We are two INSERM researchers in bioinformatics and genomics looking for researchers to join our team in Toulouse 🇫🇷. We do not have a funded open position currently (unfortunately). We are looking for researchers that either already have an INSERM position, or would like to apply for one through the national competition. In that case, we offer to help with preparing a strong application and training for the competition.
Our research activities involve both developing new bioinformatics methods and analysing genomic data, very often within international consortia (HPRC, ENCODE, MouseENCODE). More precisely, Jean Monlong is interested in understanding structural variation using pangenomes and Sarah Djebali is interested in regulatory genomics and how it can help identify causal variants of common diseases.
If you are (or know someone) interested in complementing or strengthening our genomics/epigenomics approaches, feel free to contact us! ✉️✉️
We could introduce the institute and our ongoing projects in more details, but also explore new projects for an application to INSERM’s national competitive recruitment. Among others, bioinformatics techniques for variant annotation and interpretation, large-cohort analysis (e.g. GWAS, imputation), rare disease genomic diagnostic and regulatory relationship identification could be exciting themes to explore together.
